Project Overview
In 2007, Shangli participated in motor-related supply cooperation for the Aparcavisa firewater project in Spain. The application served a parking facility for trucks transporting dangerous goods.
The facility required a firewater system capable of remaining ready for emergency demand. The wider project combined electrically driven pumping equipment, pressure-maintenance equipment and a diesel-engine-driven pump.
This case focuses on Shangli's motor-related participation. The complete pumping system and its hydraulic, control and emergency-power arrangements were part of the wider project, not a complete-system supply by Shangli.

Initial Situation
A truck parking facility handling dangerous goods needed a dependable firewater provision. The project brief called for pressure management, readiness for emergency demand and a pumping arrangement that considered loss of electrical power.
In this context, round-the-clock readiness describes the availability expected of the firewater system. It does not mean that every pump or electric motor runs continuously throughout the day.
The Overall Pumping Solution
The project information describes a system combining vertical lineshaft pump units, auxiliary equipment, a jockey pump and a main diesel-engine-driven pump. Caprari supported the design and supply of the overall pumping solution.
The jockey pump was included for pressure maintenance, while the diesel-driven pump provided a pumping option independent of the electric motor supply. These functions belong to the complete system arrangement rather than to an individual electric motor.
The design intent was to combine pressure stability with emergency pumping capability. The installed configuration and its acceptance requirements remain matters for the complete project documentation.
Shangli's Motor Contribution
|
|
|
|
Shangli's involvement concerned the electric-motor side of the project. Electric motors provide the mechanical drive for their associated pump units; their role is separate from that of the diesel engine and the system controls.
The specific motor model, rating, quantity and pump assignment are not detailed in this public summary. The case therefore does not attribute every electrically driven unit in the installation to Shangli.
It also does not attribute the hydraulic design, pressure-control settings or performance of the diesel-driven equipment to the motor supplier.
Motor Specification in a Firewater Package
For comparable projects, the motor specification must follow the requirements of the pump package and the applicable project approvals. Rated power alone is not a complete selection basis.
The following information is useful when discussing a similar application. It is an enquiry checklist, not a record of tests carried out on the 2007 project.
| Selection Item | Information to Confirm |
|---|---|
| Pump requirements | Pump model, required shaft power, operating speed and equipment specification. |
| Electrical supply | Voltage, frequency and the specified motor-starting and controller arrangement. |
| Mechanical interface | Mounting designation, shaft and coupling dimensions, and applicable bearing loads. |
| Operating requirements | Required duty, starting conditions and project-specific performance requirements. |
| Installation conditions | Ambient temperature, altitude, moisture and other environmental exposure. |
| Documentation and approvals | Required motor and pump-package approvals, inspection scope and acceptance documentation. |
Project Significance
The Aparcavisa project provides a reference for Shangli's involvement in a firewater-related motor application. Its wider system arrangement illustrates why motor selection must be coordinated with the pump, controller and installation requirements.
This historical case does not establish current certification of a particular motor model or confirm the installation's present operating condition. It makes no claim of uninterrupted operation since 2007.
Discuss a Similar Pump Motor Requirement
For a firewater pump motor enquiry, provide the pump manufacturer's specification and the project's required approvals at the beginning of the discussion.
Pump model and required motor output.
Rated speed, voltage and frequency.
Mounting and mechanical interface drawings.
Specified starting and controller arrangement.
Operating and environmental requirements.
Required certification and acceptance documents.
Quantity, destination and delivery requirements.
Shangli's Huzhou-based team can coordinate technical clarification and review the available motor configuration against the project specification. Suitability and supply scope must be confirmed for the individual enquiry.
