Project Overview
In 2025, Shangli supplied motors for the modernisation of an existing municipal water treatment plant. The project aimed to increase water-transfer capacity and meet higher flow and pressure requirements associated with growing demand for municipal water.
The plant draws raw water from the Euphrates River for treatment and distribution to local residents. Shangli's contribution covered pump-drive motors and additional motors for equipment associated with the water-treatment tanks.

Initial Situation
The existing plant required modernisation to respond to increasing population-related water demand. The project called for greater pumping capacity and the pressure needed by the upgraded water system.
Because the plant takes water from a river source, the project included raw-water intake arrangements as well as equipment used within the treatment process. These applications required different motor ratings and equipment interfaces.
Shangli Motor Configurations

The project information identifies the following motor configurations. This table lists the configurations covered by this case summary, rather than a complete project equipment schedule.
| Equipment Group | Motor Configuration | Application |
|---|---|---|
| River-water intake pump equipment | Three 90 kW Shangli motors | Pump drives within an intake arrangement incorporating river-water intake filters |
| Higher-power pump equipment | Two 250 kW Shangli motors | Pump drives within the plant upgrade |
| Water-treatment tank equipment | Three additional motors | Drives for equipment associated with the treatment tanks |
90 kW Motors for River-Water Intake Equipment
Three 90 kW Shangli motors were supplied for the pump equipment associated with river-water intake. The intake arrangement also incorporated filters for the river-water collection stage.
The motors provide mechanical power to the pumps. The intake filters are separate hydraulic components and should not be interpreted as accessories supplied with the motors.
250 kW Motors for Higher-Power Pump Drives
The supply also included two 250 kW Shangli motors for higher-power pumping equipment within the upgrade.
These ratings describe motor output, not pump flow or pressure. The hydraulic performance of each pump unit depends on its pump selection, operating speed and system conditions.
This case does not assign a specific flow rate or discharge pressure to these motors because the corresponding pump performance data is not included in the project summary.
Motors for Water-Treatment Equipment
Three additional motors were supplied for equipment associated with the water-treatment tanks. Their application was separate from the main pump-drive configurations described above.
The specific driven mechanisms and motor protection designations are not detailed in this public summary. No explosion-protection claim is made for these units.
Project Contribution
Shangli's motor supply supported the equipment upgrade through different power ratings for the plant's pumping and treatment-related applications.
The purpose of the overall modernisation was to address increased municipal water demand. The motors formed part of that wider project; Shangli's supply scope did not by itself establish the performance of the complete treatment and distribution system.
Increased flow and pressure are stated here as project objectives. No measured capacity increase, energy-saving percentage or water-quality result is claimed without the corresponding project records.
Discuss a Similar Water Plant Motor Requirement
For a water treatment plant upgrade, provide a motor schedule for each equipment group rather than one general specification for the entire installation.

Required motor power and operating speed.
Supply voltage and frequency.
Mounting, shaft and coupling details.
Starting method and any inverter requirements.
Operating duty and environmental conditions.
Quantity for each motor configuration.
