Product Overview
The Shangli YFBX3 series is a high-efficiency three-phase induction motor developed for industrial equipment operating in combustible-dust environments. It features a totally enclosed, fan-cooled construction, with IP65 enclosure protection and IC411 cooling.
Developed from the YB3 motor platform, the YFBX3 series retains the corresponding power ratings, mounting arrangements and mounting dimensions described in the catalog, while using a different terminal-box arrangement for its dust-protection design.
Catalog outputs range from 0.37 to 315 kW across selected 2-, 4-, 6-, 8- and 10-pole models. The appropriate motor should be selected according to the driven equipment, electrical supply, installation requirements and combustible-dust hazard.
Key Features
- Designed for combustible-dust environments: A dust-protected motor series intended for industrial drive applications where the selected motor's certification matches the site requirements.
- IP65 enclosure protection: The catalog specifies an IP65 enclosure rating for the YFBX3 series.
- IC411 self-ventilation: A shaft-driven external fan provides cooling as part of the totally enclosed, fan-cooled design.
- Multiple power and pole configurations: Model options support different output and operating-speed requirements, with electrical data listed by individual model.
- YB3-based mounting dimensions: The catalog identifies corresponding mounting arrangements and dimensions with the YB3 series, helping with equipment integration and replacement assessment.
- Model-specific performance data: Published information includes rated output, current, speed, efficiency, power factor and starting characteristics.

Power Range by Pole Configuration
| Poles | Catalog Output Range | Synchronous Speed at 50 Hz |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 0.75–315 kW | 3,000 rpm |
| 4 | 0.55–315 kW | 1,500 rpm |

These figures describe the catalog range and do not imply that every power, frame and pole combination is available. Actual rated shaft speed is lower than synchronous speed and varies by model. Request the individual motor datasheet for rated current, speed, efficiency and starting performance.
Enclosure and Cooling Design
The YFBX3 uses a totally enclosed construction with IC411 cooling. Its external cooling fan is driven by the motor shaft, rather than by a separate fan motor.
This arrangement differs from the independently ventilated design used on dedicated variable-speed motor series. If inverter operation or sustained low-speed operation is required, provide the intended speed range and load characteristics for technical review before selecting a YFBX3 motor.
The specified IP65 rating describes enclosure protection. It does not replace the need to verify the motor's dust-explosion protection certificate and approved operating conditions.
Dust Protection and Certification
The source catalog describes the YFBX3 series using GB12476.1 and DIP A/B dust-protection terminology. For a new project or replacement installation, request the current certificate and nameplate marking for the exact motor being supplied.
Suitability depends on the hazardous-area classification, dust characteristics, permitted surface temperature, ambient conditions and any certificate-specific restrictions. A dust-protection designation alone should not be treated as approval for explosive-gas environments.
If your project requires ATEX, IECEx or another destination-market approval, specify this with your enquiry so that the applicable documentation can be checked before quotation.
Efficiency and Motor Selection
The catalog states an efficiency reference of Grade 2 under GB 18613-2012 and provides efficiency values for individual models. For procurement, specify the efficiency standard and class required by your project, and confirm these against the selected motor's current technical documentation.
Select the motor using more than rated output alone. Rated speed, load torque, starting current, starting frequency and duty cycle should also be reviewed to match the motor to the driven equipment.
Installation and Replacement
According to the catalog, YFBX3 power ratings, mounting arrangements and mounting dimensions correspond to those of the YB3 series, with differences in the terminal-box arrangement.
For replacement projects, compare the approved drawings for shaft dimensions, foot or flange mounting, overall clearances, terminal-box position and cable entry. Dimensional similarity does not establish equivalent hazardous-area certification.
