Product Overview
The Shangli YE3 series is a range of IE3 premium-efficiency, low-voltage three-phase induction motors for general industrial machinery. It uses a squirrel-cage rotor and a totally enclosed fan-cooled construction, with materials, manufacturing processes and an electromagnetic design developed for energy-efficient operation.
The series covers frame sizes 80–355 and rated outputs from 0.75 to 375 kW, with 2-, 4- and 6-pole options. Standard catalog ratings are 380 V or 400 V at 50 Hz, with IP55 enclosure protection, IC411 cooling and S1 continuous duty.
The catalog specifies efficiency values meeting or exceeding IE3 requirements under IEC 60034-30 and Grade 3 requirements under GB 18613-2020. Use the selected model's performance data when comparing efficiency, rated current and operating costs.
Key Features
- IE3 premium efficiency: designed to reduce motor losses compared with a lower-efficiency motor delivering the same mechanical output.
- Totally enclosed fan-cooled construction: IC411 cooling uses an external shaft-driven fan to dissipate heat during operation.
- IP55 enclosure protection: specified for the standard series.
- S1 continuous duty: suitable for continuous operation at the rated load within the specified operating conditions.
- Multiple speed options: 2-, 4- and 6-pole configurations support different industrial drive requirements.
- Starting performance: model-specific starting torque and starting current data help match the motor to the driven load.
- IEC-standard mounting dimensions: support equipment integration and replacement assessment, subject to verification of the exact motor drawing.

Confirm the voltage, winding connection, mounting arrangement and complete nameplate ratings for the selected motor. Other supply frequencies, voltages or site conditions require technical confirmation.
Power Range and Speed Selection
| Number of Poles | Catalog Output Range | Synchronous Speed at 50 Hz |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 0.75–375 kW | 3,000 rpm |
| 4 | 0.75–375 kW | 1,500 rpm |
| 6 | 0.75–315 kW | 1,000 rpm |
Synchronous speed is a reference value, not the rated shaft speed. Actual rated speed is lower and varies by model. Select the motor using its rated speed, torque, starting characteristics and the requirements of the driven equipment.
Typical Applications
YE3 motors can be selected for a broad range of general-purpose machinery where the electrical ratings, load characteristics and operating environment match the motor specification.
- Pumps: water transfer, circulation and other industrial pumping systems.
- Fans and blowers: ventilation, air-handling and process-air equipment.
- Compressors: drives requiring appropriate starting torque and continuous-duty performance.
- General machinery: industrial equipment requiring a low-voltage three-phase induction motor.
- Process-industry equipment: machinery in petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical and mineral-processing facilities, where installed in non-hazardous locations.
The standard YE3 series is not an explosion-protected motor. IP55 does not constitute approval for explosive gas or combustible dust atmospheres. Such locations require a separately selected and appropriately approved motor.
Operating Conditions
Standard catalog conditions are an ambient temperature from -15°C to +40°C and an installation altitude not exceeding 1,000 m above sea level.
For higher altitudes, temperatures outside this range, outdoor exposure, corrosive conditions or other special environments, provide the site details before ordering. The required configuration and any derating must be assessed for the application.
If variable-frequency operation is required, confirm insulation suitability, cooling performance and the permitted operating speed range. The standard 50 Hz ratings should not be treated as an unrestricted variable-speed specification.
Model Designation
The catalog illustrates the designation YE3-315L2-4, 200 kW, IP55.
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
| YE3 | Motor series |
| 315 | Shaft centre height of 315 mm |
| L2 | Frame/core-length designation |
| 4 | Four-pole motor |
| 200 kW | Rated mechanical output |
| IP55 | Enclosure protection rating |
The model designation does not replace the complete electrical and mechanical specification. Include the supply voltage, frequency and mounting arrangement when requesting a quotation.
Mounting and Replacement Checks
For new equipment or replacement installations, request the dimensional drawing for the exact YE3 model. Check shaft centre height, shaft diameter and extension, key dimensions, foot-hole spacing, flange dimensions where applicable, terminal box clearance and overall length.
For compressor and other demanding starting applications, also compare starting torque, starting current and load inertia. Matching the rated power alone does not establish that a replacement motor will suit the equipment.
Efficiency and Energy Use
IE3 efficiency helps reduce the electrical input required to deliver a given mechanical output compared with a less efficient motor under equivalent operating conditions. Actual savings depend on the motor load, operating hours, existing motor efficiency and electricity tariff.
The catalog provides model-specific efficiency, power factor, rated speed and current values for 380 V and 400 V supplies. Use these data for equipment selection and request the applicable efficiency test documentation when required by the project.
Information Required for a Quotation
Send the following information to our Huzhou team for model selection and quotation:
- Required output in kW and rated speed or pole count.
- Supply voltage and frequency.
- Driven equipment, starting method and load characteristics.
- Mounting arrangement and dimensional restrictions.
- Ambient temperature, altitude and installation environment.
